Dwayne Clayden is a man of many talents with a thrilling 42-year career that has seen him serve as a police officer, paramedic, tactical paramedic, firefighter, emergency medical services (EMS) chief, educator, and academic chair in Alberta, Canada. Dwayne has truly lived a life of service.

His passion for storytelling has led him to a new chapter as a bestselling author of crime thrillers and police procedurals.

Dwayne’s first novel in the Brad Coulter Series, Crisis Point, was a finalist for the Crime Writers of Canada Arthur Ellis Awards and an Amazon Bestseller. The series, set in the 1970-80s, follows the career of Calgary Detective Brad Coulter as he navigates the gritty world of crime and justice.

With five bestselling books in the series, including Outlaw MC, Wolfman is Back, 13 Days of Terror, and Goddess of Justice, Dwayne has proven himself to be a master of the crime thriller genre.

He also has a two-novel series, Speargrass, a modern western thriller set in Montana.

In addition to his writing, Dwayne is an active member of the literary community. He has served as a board member with the Crime Writers of Canada and the Alexandra Writers’ Centre Society, and currently leads the Calgary Crime Writers. He is a popular speaker at writing groups and conferences, sharing his knowledge and experience with aspiring writers.

Throughout his career, Dwayne has been recognized for his devoted service. He has received the Exemplary Service Medal from the Governor General of Canada, the Exemplary Service Medal from the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, the Long Service Medal from the City of Calgary, and the Award of Excellence from the Alberta Paramedics Association. Dwayne’s dedication to serving his community, both on the streets and on the page, is truly inspiring.
